Do you have concerns that your ex-partner will take the children overseas without your consent? If you have concerns, and there are no Orders of the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia restricting or limiting the children’s overseas travel, you should firstly take steps to secure the children’s passports if passports have already been issued.
If the other parent already has possession of the children’s passports, you should urgently take steps to place the children on the airport watchlist with the Australian Federal Police. By doing this, if the other parent attempts to leave the country with the children, it will be flagged by security and the relevant authorities, and the children will be stopped from boarding the plane. To apply for the children to be placed on the airport watchlist, you will need to have first initiated proceedings in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia.
